Attorney Johana Pool is a dedicated legal advocate licensed to practice state law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and immigration law nationwide through her Massachusetts license. She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Pittsburgh and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Andrés Bello National University in Chile. Additionally, Johana is a registered lawyer in Chile, further enhancing her expertise in international legal matters.
As an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Women's Bar Association, Johana is deeply committed to advancing immigrants' rights and supporting her professional community. Before transitioning to her role as an immigration attorney, she gained invaluable experience as an immigration paralegal in Atlanta, where she played a crucial role in helping numerous clients and their families secure permanent resident cards (green cards). Her practical experience in this area gives her a unique understanding of her clients’ needs and challenges.
In her practice, Johana skillfully advises and counsels individuals from around the globe on pathways to study or work in the United States with temporary visas, including F-1, J-1, H-1B, and O-1 visas. She passionately guides clients through the complex permanent residency processes, including immigrant petitions and green card applications. Johana also has extensive experience in obtaining waivers for specific grounds of inadmissibility and assisting with J-1 visa waivers that lift the two-year home-country physical presence requirement for non-immigrants. Furthermore, she empowers the immigrant community through PAIR by delivering impactful “Know Your Rights” presentations in Spanish.
Born in Chile, Johana immigrated to the United States in 2005, which sparked her commitment to advocating for others navigating the intricate immigration system. Her journey has instilled profound empathy for immigrants and a fervent dedication to immigration law. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian, French, and Catalan, Johana is poised to make a lasting impact in the lives of those she serves.
